Maintenance and operation of tools and measuring instruments:

In mechanical measurement, in order to achieve ideal accuracy, in addition to controlling measurement environmental factors, careful attention must also be paid to the use and maintenance of the measuring tools themselves. Improper use can result in measurement errors; Poor maintenance can damage its accuracy and further affect product quality. Therefore, the use and maintenance of general measuring tools should pay attention to the following matters:

1、 Preparation before using measuring tools:

(1) Before starting the measurement, confirm whether the measuring tools have been reset to zero.

(2) Check the measuring surface of the measuring tool for rust, wear, or scratches.

(3) First, remove any burrs, oil stains, or debris from the measuring surface of the workpiece.

(4) Wipe clean with a clean and soft cloth or dust-free paper.

(5) Regular inspection and recording are required, and if necessary, calibration should be carried out again.

(6) Arrange the measuring tools and instruments to be used neatly in appropriate positions, without overlapping.

(7) Fragile measuring tools should be laid on the workbench with soft cloth or wiping paper (such as optical flat mirrors).

2、 Precautions for using measuring tools:

(1) When measuring, the contact with the workpiece should be appropriate and not skewed. It is necessary to avoid touching the measuring surface with hands to protect the measuring tool.

(2) The measurement force should be appropriate. Excessive measurement pressure can cause measurement errors and easily damage the measuring tools.

(3) The clamping method of the workpiece should be appropriate to avoid inaccurate measurement.

(4) Do not measure rotating workpieces to avoid danger.

(5) Do not forcefully insert the measuring tool into the workpiece or use it on a vise.

(6) Do not randomly tap, throw or place measuring tools.

(7) The use of special measuring tools should follow certain methods and steps.

3、 Maintenance of measuring tools after use:

(1) After use, it should be cleaned thoroughly.

(2) Apply rust proof oil to the cleaned measuring tools and store them in the cabinet.

(3) Disassembly, adjustment, modification, and assembly should be carried out by specialized management personnel and cannot be operated without authorization.

(4) Regularly check the performance of storage tools and keep maintenance records.

(5) Regular inspections should be conducted to verify whether the dimensions are qualified, as a basis for continued use or elimination, and inspection and maintenance records should be kept.
